As a result of the recent office move, the phone lines at the Board office are down to one line. Also, as we get closer to renewal season the call volume is higher than usual. While the State works on the issue please email the office at info@labmt.org or admin@labmt.org for faster service. We thank you for your patience while this situation is being resolved and will return any calls within one business day. 
 
 NOTICE: 12/5/2022 - PAPER APPLICATIONS FOR RENEWALS
This year no paper renewal forms will be mailed, only a post card reminder will be sent at a later date. The office encourages all licensees to renew online for faster processing. The Louisiana Board of Massage Therapy is a regulatory agency whose members are appointed by the Office of the Governor with a mission to protect the health, safety and welfare of the public as well as the integrity of the profession by regulating the practice of massage therapy.  The Board seeks to insure that massage therapists meet certain educational levels, comply with ethical and legal standards applicable to the profession, and that massage therapy establishments conform to sanitary and record keeping requirements.  The Board issues and renews licenses, collects fees, receives and investigates complaints, performs inspections, conducts hearings on disciplinary matters and otherwise addresses issues that are relevant to the massage industry.  The website is to assist the general public, licensees and applicants in understanding the laws, regulations and licensing process which govern the massage profession in the state of Louisiana.

LBMT takes its role of public protection seriously; but, can only act within its authority as a regulatory board.  If you feel an establishment or a therapist is violating the LMT Practice Act you may file a complaint on our website or with the local authorities.

In compliance with Act 655 of the 2018 Regular Legislative Session, the Board gives notice to its licensees and applicants of their opportunity to file a complaint about board actions or procedures. You may submit such complaints to one or more of the following organizations:
