![]() Home : Compliments and Complaints : Register a Complaint - Therapist or Establishment Register a Complaint - Therapist or Establishment The Louisiana Board of Massage Therapy takes its role of public protection seriously; but, can only act within its authority as a regulatory board. The Board cannot enforce any local ordinances and therefore relies on local law enforcement for assistance. In addition, the Board cannot act regarding satisfaction of services received, employment disputes, payment disputes, etc. If you feel an establishment or a therapist is violating the LMT Practice Act you may file a complaint on the website or by submitting your complaint in writing at admin@labmt.org. If you wish to seek criminal prosecution we encourage you to do so by contacting law enforcement. For complaints outside of the Boards jurisdiction, please contact local authorities, the Better Business Bureau, law enforcement or an attorney for assistance If you would like to file a complaint against a therapist or establishment via mail, please click here to download the form. If you would like to file a complaint online, please follow the instructions below: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ What can I do as a consumer or massage therapist if I suspect human trafficking/illicit activity at a massage establishment or illicit massage business (IMB)? The board will act within its jurisdiction of the massage therapy laws but does not have the same authority that local governmental agencies have to enforce criminal laws. For this reason the board works closely with and relies on law enforcement for assistance in regards to businesses suspected of illicit activity/human trafficking. Most illicit massage businesses (IMB) are part of a crime network which requires intervention from specialized law enforcement teams. If you suspect human trafficking involving illicit activity, report this information to the board by filing a complaint on our website and then report the same to local/state authorities.
